Tag As FavoriteComment		I did a coupla versions of this one. The original black and white I was happy with--I'd just moved down here to Phoenix, and the zoo here has all these turtles. Everywhere. If there's water and a stick, there's a turtle. Sometimes multiple turtles. Being a psychotic photographer, and not realizing until much later that 'Hey, those little beaks can take my finger off!' I took a great many photos of turtles, which made me want to paint a turtle, because...y'know. I mean, they're turtles! What's not to love? (Best suggestion so far for why the fairy is riding a much slower turtle is as a mobile tanning bed.) So anyway, I had this B&W version, and tried coloring it. Hated it. Sometimes you hit the nail on the head, sometimes you just smear your thumb all over the drywall, and this was definitely the latter. And then, like a gift from the UPS gods, there came Painter 8. And lo! It had new watercolor functions, and I had a psychedelic turtle, and my corner of the cosmos was once again safe for art, at least for another day...

....Yeah Anon, lucky turtle. A naked female of an entirely different species must be so awesome. I’m sure if you saw a naked elephant seal you would feel just as lucky.

Oh and also, its a fabulously colored picture. x) Your anatomy is excuisite and the turtle is very realistic. With as much of a boring expression as you expect.
